STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO YOUR AZDPS VISIT

Step 1: Free Parking
When you arrive at the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Public Services Center, you’ll find free visitor parking near the main entrance. Bring all required documents with you before entering the building.
Step 2: Walk Through Main Entrance
Walk through the main entrance of the Arizona Department of Public Safety Public Services Center. Once inside, you’ll find a self-service kiosk where you can obtain a ticket before speaking with a representative at the Concealed Carry Weapons Permit Unit (CWPU).
Step 3: Use the Self-Service Kiosk
After entering the building, check in using the self-service kiosk. Select “CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMITS/LEOSA” on the kiosk touchscreen to receive your queue ticket. Keep your ticket with you and wait for your number to be called.
Step 4: Wait in the Seating Area for Your Number
Take your queue ticket and have a seat in the waiting area on the west side of the building. Watch the screen monitor for your ticket number and assigned service window. Concealed Carry Weapons Permit (CWPU) visitors are directed to Window 6.
Please remember that visitors are assisted in the order their tickets are issued. Since all CWPU visitors are called to Window 6, there may be other visitors already waiting nearby. If another visitor approaches the window before you, they may have received their ticket before you. Please be courteous and allow visitors with earlier ticket numbers to be assisted first.
Don’t be concerned if the lights are off or Window 6 appears unoccupied. This is completely normal. Once a CWPU ticket is issued from the self-service kiosk, the department is notified and a representative will walk to the window from inside the building to assist the next visitor. Average wait times are typically 5 to 10 minutes, although they may vary depending on the time of day and visitor volume.
Step 5: Meet with the CWPU Representative
Approach Window 6 when your ticket number is called. Be prepared to explain the purpose of your visit and have your photo identification and any required documents readily available.
The Concealed Carry Weapons Permit (CWPU) representatives assist with new applications, permit renewals, replacement cards, fingerprint cards, and general permit questions. They are professional, courteous, and committed to helping visitors complete their transactions as efficiently as possible. Please extend the same courtesy and respect during your visit.
If applicable, bring copies of any letters, notices, fingerprint cards, receipts, or other supporting documents related to your visit. Arriving prepared can help ensure your visit goes smoothly and may prevent the need for a return visit.
Step 6: Payments May Be Made Using A Credit/Debit Card
Many visitors don’t realize they can pay with a credit or debit card in person. This can save you time by eliminating the need to obtain a cashier’s check or money order in advance. Please note that payments are non-refundable.

Before leaving, confirm that you understand any required next steps. If you need to return to the office, consider writing down the representative’s name and taking a photo of your queue ticket, which documents the date and time of your visit.
Step 8: If You Must Return – Repeat Steps
If you need to return for another visit in the future, simply repeat Steps 1–7.
