HERE ARE 5 WAYS TO SUBMIT AN ARIZONA CCW CHANGE OF ADDRESS REQUEST

If you hold an active Arizona CCW permit, you must notify the AZDPS Concealed Weapons Permit Unit in writing or via the Public Services Portal within 10 days of an address or telephone number change. Here are 5 ways to submit an Arizona CCW Change of Address Request. It’s also a good idea to update your current address for all future mail correspondences pertaining to your permit and renewal notification by mail.

Please note, this is an administrative change in the AZDPS system. Nothing changes to your physical permit card, because there is no address printed on the card. So you will not receive a new card.

SUBMIT ONLINE REQUEST APPLICATION

OPTION1 : You may submit an online request 24/7. There is a small credit card processing and service fee of $5.47. The fee may be paid with a credit card or debit cards. Be sure to enter your permit number, issue date, and expiration date. You will be notified by email once the update is complete. This option is great if you do not want to wait on the phone and want to submit a request immediately.

CALL AZDPS BY PHONE

OPTION 2: You may call AZDPS at 602-256-6280 on Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. They are open until 5:00 pm, but stop taking calls at 4:30 pm to assist the remaining callers in queue for the day. The agent may ask for your full name, date of birth, or social security number to pull up your information in their system. The agent will simply update the address and/or telephone number in their system for you. There is a $0 fee for using this option and the update is immediate in their system. Note, AZDPS is closed on state and federal holidays.

VISIT AZDPS IN PERSON

OPTION 3:

You may visit the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Public Services Center in Phoenix to request a change of address and/or phone number in person with a live agent. AZDPS is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is closed on all state and federal holidays. Be sure to bring a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID. An agent will verify your identity and can update the address and/or phone number on your profile account.

When you arrive, enter through the main entrance and walk toward the back of the lobby. Use the self-service kiosk and select “CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMITS / LEOSA.” The kiosk will print a ticket number. Take a seat in the waiting area and watch the large TV monitor for your number to be called to Window 6, which serves the Concealed Weapons Permit Unit (CWPU). Keep in mind that other visitors may already be waiting with the same ticket number, so please use common courtesy and allow those who arrived before you to be assisted first.

Do not be concerned if Window 6 appears unattended or the light is off. CWPU staff work in a separate department and will come to the window when it is your turn. In many cases, wait times are relatively short and may average 5 to 10 minutes, depending on visitor volume.

OPTION 4: Print and mail the “CCW Permit Replacement Rquest Form.” There is $0 fee for this option. But you will need to pay for postage to mail this form to AZDPS. Please give AZDPS a few weeks to receive and process the request. You will be notified by email once the update is complete.

OPTION 5: Since there is $0 fee for this request, you may download and complete the form. It is a fillable pdf document. Make sure you save the document once it’s completed with your personal information. Then email it directly to the Concealed Weapons Permit Unit. Please give AZDPS a few days to process the request. You will be notified by email once the update is complete.

Do I need a new Arizona CCW permit card after changing my address?

No. Arizona CCW permits do not display your address. Updating your address only changes your information in the AZDPS system. You will not receive a new permit card unless you separately request a replacement permit.

When can I renew my Arizona CCW permit?

You may start the renewal process within 90-days of the expiration date listed on your permit card. If you submit your renewal greater than 91-days, AZDPS will kick back your application. Can I renew my Arizona CCW permit online?

Yes. Eligible permit holders may renew online through the Arizona Department of Public Safety during their renewal window. Make sure you are within the 90-day window or 60-day grace period. Please click here for more information and to submit your application online.

How much does Arizona CCW renewal cost?

Arizona Department of Public Safety renewal fees are subject to change. The current online application renewal fee is $49.88 (credit card processing and service fees are included). You may pay with a credit or debit card.

If you mail the the renewal application, you must obtain a cashier’s check or money order may payable to “AZ DPS” for $43.00. Don’t forget to include your name and address if applicable. This way your payment matches your application if they become separated during processing.

Do I need fingerprints for Arizona CCW renewal?

No. New fingerprints are not required. They are only required if you miss the 60 day grace period and must reapply as a new applicant.

However, if you are 61 days past the expiration date, you must reapply as a new applicant. This means you must submit a new application, pay the AZDPS processing fee of $67.45, and submit new fingerprints. If you need help, visit our Resources page. How long does Arizona CCW renewal take?

Processing times vary depending on application volume and submission method. Please give AZDPS up to 75 days to process your renewal. Online submissions are generally processed faster than mailed applications.

Is there a grace period after my Arizona CCW permit expires?

Yes. Arizona provides a 60-day grace period following your permit expiration date. If your permit has expired, you should renew as soon as possible to avoid interruptions.
