ARIZONA CCW RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST
To renew your Arizona CCW Permit, you generally must:
✅ Hold a current Arizona CCW permit
✅ Renew within 90 days before expiration or within the 60-day grace period after expiration
✅ Complete a renewal application
✅ Submit required identification documents
✅ Pass the Arizona DPS background check
✅ Pay the renewal fee of $43
✅ Remain legally eligible to possess firearms

These Are The Required Documents
ONLINE & MAIL APPLICATIONS
For online applications, please upload documentation and scan each document individually. The maximum size of individual files is 5 MB. If you are mailing your application, photocopies in black and white are fine. Color photocopies are not required.
Proof of Identity – Government-issued photo identification (ID) such as a driver license, state-issued identification card, or passport. *Note: A copy of the front side of your driver’s license is sufficient (back side is not required). For passports, please provide a copy of the page with your photo and personal information. Make sure you passport number is visible on the top right corner and the numbers and characters at the very bottom are completely visible. Failure to do so will only delay the process.
IF born outside the United States or one of its territories, submit a copy of one of the following:
– Record of birth abroad to an American citizen.
– Record of birth to Armed Service personnel.
– Passport issued by the United States. *Note: Please provide a copy of the page with your photo and personal information. Make sure you passport number is visible on the top right corner and the numbers and characters at the very bottom are completely visible. Failure to do so will only delay the process.
– Certificate of Naturalization. *Note: You must provide your USCIS # found on the certificate of naturalization for verification purposes.
If NOT a US Citizen:
Please submit One of the following AND proof of Arizona Residency
A permanent resident alien card (front and back) and it must be a 10 year card (2 year cards are not accepted), USCIS Form I-94, or other federally issued document authorizing the applicant to be in the United States.
Copy of a resident alien card must have the following:
– Clearly visible “A” number.
– The issue and expiration dates must be imprinted on the front of the card.
– The card must be valid at the time of CCW permit issuance. *Note: Must be a 10 year card.
Proof of Arizona residency (as defined by A.R.S. §28-2001):
– Arizona Driver License or ID Card matching the address on the application. *Note: An Arizona Driver License is the most common document submitted. (or)
– Two documents issued from separate businesses, organizations, or government agencies (utility bills, credit card/bank statements, insurance policy, lease, etc.) with your legal name, as shown on your AZ DL or ID Card, and physical address listed (not a PO Box), matching the address provided on your application.
