When Should You Request a Replacement Permit?
You should request a replacement Arizona CCW permit if:

You may mail the application directly to AZDPS. Be sure to include the appropriate postage. There is no need to overnight the application packet, as it goes to a P.O. Box. This will save you significant money on postage. But if you can, get a tracking number for your own reference so you know it’s been delivered. This is optional and not required. Processing times varies. Simply errors may cause delays. Please wait up to 45 days to receive your new Arizona CCW Permit card.

SUBMIT REPLACEMENT APPLICATION & DROP-OFF AT AZDPS
OPTION 4: You may visit the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Public Services Center in Phoenix to submit your completed CCW Replacement Request Application in person. Before visiting, download and complete the replacement application. Be sure to fill out all required fields and write legibly using black ink to help avoid processing delays.
One advantage of submitting your application in person is that you can pay the $10 replacement card processing fee directly at the service window using a credit or debit card. Unlike mailing your application, you do not need to obtain a cashier’s check or money order in advance.
When you arrive, enter through the main entrance and walk toward the back of the lobby. Use the self-service kiosk and select “CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMITS / LEOSA.” The kiosk will print a ticket number. Take a seat in the waiting area and watch the large TV monitor for your number to be called to Window 6, which serves the Concealed Weapons Permit Unit (CWPU).
Keep in mind that other visitors may already be waiting with the same ticket number, so please use common courtesy and allow those who arrived before you to be assisted first.
Do not be concerned if Window 6 appears unattended or the light is off. CWPU staff work in a separate department and will come to the window when it is your turn. In many cases, wait times are relatively short and may average 5 to 10 minutes, depending on visitor volume.
Submitting your application in person allows you to hand-deliver your paperwork directly to AZDPS and confirm that your application and payment have been received. Processing times may vary, and incomplete applications or missing information can cause delays. Please allow up to 45 days for AZDPS to process your request and issue a replacement permit card.

What should I do if my Arizona CCW Permit is lost or stolen?
If your Arizona CCW permit is lost or stolen, you should request a replacement permit from AZDPS as soon as possible. You may apply online, by mail, or in person. Once a replacement permit is issued, your original permit number will no longer be valid.
Does a replacement Arizona CCW Permit extend my expiration date?
No. A replacement permit only replaces your physical permit card. Your original expiration date remains the same and does not change when a replacement card is issued.
Does my permit number remain the same?
No. Your old permit number is no longer valid. You will be issued a new permit number on your replacement Arizona CCW permit card. Your original expiration date will remain unchanged.
Can I get a replacement card and keep my original when I find it?
No. AZDPS only issues one valid Arizona CCW permit card at a time. If a replacement permit is issued, the original permit card and permit number are no longer valid. If you later find your original permit card, you should use your new permit card and destroy the old one.
How long does it take to receive a replacement Arizona CCW permit?

How much does Arizona CCW renewal cost?
Arizona Department of Public Safety renewal fees are subject to change. The current online application renewal fee is $49.88 (credit card processing and service fees are included). You may pay with a credit or debit card.
If you mail the the renewal application, you must obtain a cashier’s check or money order may payable to “AZ DPS” for $43.00. Don’t forget to include your name and address if applicable. This way your payment matches your application if they become separated during processing.
Do I need fingerprints for Arizona CCW renewal?
No. New fingerprints are not required. They are only required if you miss the 60 day grace period and must reapply as a new applicant.
However, if you are 61 days past the expiration date, you must reapply as a new applicant. How long does Arizona CCW renewal take?
Processing times vary depending on application volume and submission method. Please give AZDPS up to 75 days to process your renewal. Online submissions are generally processed faster than mailed applications.
Is there a grace period after my Arizona CCW permit expires?
Yes. Arizona provides a 60-day grace period following your permit expiration date. If your permit has expired, you should renew as soon as possible to avoid interruptions.
